The first week of the Easter break has been a busy time for our players with youngsters competing in Sutton, Nottingham and Tunbridge Wells.
At Sutton the week started with Graham Hunt and Evie Robertson both taking to the clay courts for their first matches.
This was a new experience for Graham who had never played on clay before but he quickly got used to the surface and although he played some good tennis lost to his more experienced opponent, Lewis Woodham 2-6, 3-6.
Evie played a great first set totally dominating the court however her opponent fought back well to level the score and after a close third set Evie just lost out 6-0, 6-7(5), 4-6.
Stephen Friend. Ollie Richards and Dushan Sreckovic played well in the 10 and under Green ball event whilst Ciaran Brewer competed in the 9 and under orange draw. All the lads kept a brilliant attitude throughout and gained some valuable experience.
Will Gee and Joseph Richards were our youngest players competing at Sutton and both had a fantastic tournament with Will gaining his first title!
Will continued his form later in the week when he was runner up at Tunbridge Wells after an extremely exciting close match with the number one seed, Thomas Pollard.
Also competing at Tunbridge Wells were some of our older academy players. Over the week there were some interesting matches which gave all the players concerned some valuable experience!
Meanwhile, further away from home James Davis was competing in the 14 and under draw at The Nottingham Junior Open. James played some great tennis throughout the week to reach the consolation final where he lost to Max Stewart, 2-6, 2-6.
