Congratulations to Ciaran Brewer who reached the prestigious finals of the Road to Wimbledon this week. This is a great achievement as over 2,000 players enter the event via their county or school.
The Road to Wimbledon National Finals see the best 14 & under players from every UK county take to the courts that only four weeks ago hosted the likes of Federer, Djokovic, Sharapova and Williams. The Finals take place on the Aorangi Courts, the courts where Wimbledon stars practice before their matches and it was an exciting moment for Ciaran who had full access to the areas around the Aorangi Courts too, such as changing rooms, canteen and lounge.
After a weekend of practice, Monday saw the finals of the HSBC Road to Wimbledon start with a packed day of tennis despite a succession of rain delays. Earlier in the day Tim Henman held a Q&A and was happy to share his wealth of experience with the next generation of talent and of course pose for some photos.
It was a great experience for Ciaran who along with his Mum and Dad and coaches, Eb, Faye and Tim had a great time exploring the grounds, which seemed eerily quiet without the tournament going on but still very interesting and special.
