June 2015 - Cargills Opticians Visit the Tennis School

A huge thank you to Paul Thompson, a partner at Cargill’s Optometrists, who visited the pupils from the Tennis School today. Paul came to test the kids in all aspects of sight with the Tennis Centre’s office being transformed into a clinic for the day!
Paul was brilliant with the kids and it was very interesting to see the tests carried out. The tests included distance and near vision tests, muscle control tests, a test for motility or tracking, peripheral and colour vision test, 3D vision and a test to determine the dominant eye, hand and foot of each player.
Paul made some recommendations for all the players. In particular Paul recommended to Oliver that he wear sports specific glasses in order to protect his eyes and improve performance and visibility on court. After a fitting session, Paul has sponsored a pair of sports specific glasses for Oliver.
