Appeti Tennis today launched a performance tennis programme in a partnership project with the Canterbury High School.
The Appeti Tennis Academy will open at the school in September alongside the Athletics Academy.
The school has obtained planning permission for two indoor courts and two outdoor courts which will be completed in August. Academy pupils will also have access to a 60 station gym, floodlight running track, sports hall and sports science unit.
Academy pupils will be aged between 16-19, with an LTA rating of 4.2 or higher, with an aim to continuing their development whilst remaining in full time education.
Successful candidates will receive three hours of squad training, three hours of individual sessions, six hours of fitness training, 10 hours of court time and unlimited use of the gym and sports facilities each week for a fixed sum of £50.
They will also receive sponsorship opportunities.
Eb said, “Our Academy will provide those players looking to continue their education with an opportunity to get the best of both worlds. By combining education with a structured tennis programme players will be in a stronger position to make a career decision at 18 or 19, whether tennis or academic.”
