May 2012 - James Represents Kent at County Cup

James Davis spent the May Bank Holiday in Taunton, Somerset representing Kent at the 14U County Cup Group H play offs.

The first day saw Kent playing Devon with James playing at number 2. Kent made short work of their opponents and all the boys left the court with victories under their belts with James beating Joel While 6-0, 6-1.

Next Kent were drawn against the home team of Somerset. Again the boys made a clean sweep with James beating Hamish O’Mahony 6-0, 6-2 and then teaming up with Bailey Robbins to win their doubles 6-1, 6-2.

The next round was due to be played the following day but due to the likely hood of bad weather it was decided to play the singles early so the boys returned to the courts to face Buckinghamshire. This time James faced Barnaby Smith. Unfortunately James was unable to take the match and left the court 2-6, 2-6 down. His first defeat of the weekend!

The following day James was back on court with Bailey to play their doubles. Once again they proved a winning combination beating their opponents 6-2, 6-0.

After a successful weekend James and the other lads in the Kent team will progress to The County Cup Finals at Nottingham. We wish them all the best!
