October 2012 - Over 70 New Players!

Over the last month Appeti Tennis, in partnership with The Canterbury High School, have been working with ten local primary schools delivering their 123 Junior tennis programme.

The ten schools involved were:-

  • Barham
  • Bridge and Patrixbourne Primary School
  • Chartham Primary School
  • Hernhill Primary School
  • St Mary’s Primary School
  • St Peter’s Methodist Primary School
  • St Stephens’ Infant School
  • Swalecliffe Primary School
  • The Canterbury Primary School
  • Wincheap Primary School

Each of these schools have received four free weeks of coaching funded by The Appeti Grassroots programme during curriculum time. From these sessions we are pleased to welcome over seventy new juniors to our Canterbury centre where they are learning more about the game of tennis.

All the youngsters will receive eight more weeks of subsidised coaching delivered by the same team of coaches who have been busy working with them at their schools. Tim Bean, Ffion Newberry, Richard Myall and Graham Hunt are all looking forward to coaching this latest wave of promising players.

It is hoped these keen youngsters will continue and who knows, one of them may be a future Wimbledon Champion!
We are currently booking our next wave of 123 so if your school would like to get involved please contact us.
