Over half term a number of our youngsters have been competing at home and away. Players ranging in age from 6 to 16 have been developing their competition skills through match experience at tournaments locally and further afield.
For some youngsters they had their first experience at our own matchplays which took place at The Appeti Centre, Canterbury. These are a valuable means for children to gain their first experience of formal competition and offer youngsters chance to play against others of similar level and ability.
A few more of our juniors played in the East Kent Championships and in the Parklangley Junior Spring Tournament. These players had mixed fortunes with matches both won and lost over the week but congratulations should go to Jamie Wallace who won the 16U consolation draw 2-6, 6-2, 10-4 after a close final against Alasdair Parson at Parklangley.
